Azerbaijan, Baku, 29 February / Trend corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ The Shevchenko District Court in Kiev dismissed the petition urging for the release the Azerbaijani legal thief, who was arrested two weeks ago by the Ukrainian police.
According to the Ukrainian Prime Crime news agency, the criminal proceedings involving Rovshan Janiyev, who is known as Rovshan Lankaranski, were completed on 28 February.
Janiyev's attorneys tried to convince the Judge Oksana Pavlenko that their client's rights were infringed during the arrest. Relying on reports from the Psychological Clinic, they urged to change the preventive measure for Janiyev.
The Court decided the acts by the Ukrainian police were in fact legal and have retained Janiyev in custody, arguing that he was registered within the international search for committing a serious crime in Azerbaijan.
