(news.sawf.org) - Prince William is likely to be deployed in a conflict zone when he serves on board a warship during his planned stint with the Royal Navy. His more immediate plans, however, include a romantic getaway with girlfriend Kate Middleton.
William, 25, is currently on a four month tour with the RAF at Cranwell, learning to fly helicopters. His tour with the Royal Navy will follow his stint with the Air Force.
His younger brother, Prince Harry, has just returned from action in Afghanistan where he was deployed within 500 yards of Taliban lines.
William and Middleton are planning a skiing getaway at the Swiss resort of Klosters next month.
Because of his tight flying training schedule, William and Middleton get to see each other over the weekends only.
However, their relationship continues to be strong.
"The rumors that they are on the rocks are rubbish," a close friend told Daily Mail.
"It is simply that they have not been out clubbing together and are keeping a low profile."
"They talk on the phone pretty much every day."
Middleton is scheduled to attend William's cousin Peter Phillips' wedding at Windsor Castle in May, a strong indication that their relationship is on track.
Because of his planned tours with the RAF and Royal Navy, it may be sometime before William proposes to Kate. In the interim, Kate plans to stay busy pursuing her interest in photography.
"She has talked about going to New York so she can develop her photography career," another friend told Daily Mail. "She is making plans to go over there soon."
