22 Tuberculosis Cases Registered in Azerbaijan’s Lankaran Region in 2008
Azerbaijan, Lankaran, 3 March / Trend corr. P.Aliyeva / Twenty-two tuberculosis cases were registered in the Lankaran region of Azerbaijan from January to February 2008, Telman Aliyev, and senior doctor of Pulmonary Disease Dispensary, stated.
In 2007, 8 out of the 146 tuberculosis cases died. Aliyev said that one-third out of 1,292 tuberculosis cases were women and 12 were children under the age of 14 years. Most of the registered tuberculosis cases were drug addicts, the doctor stated.
Lankaran is located 279km south of Baku.
