Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 April /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva/ Azerbaijani soldier, who is currently in Armenian captivity, is expected to return to his Native land in the near future. The Secretary of State Commission on Captives and Missing People of Azerbaijan, Shahin Sailov, told Trend on 14 April that the Commission is taking necessary measures to release the captive. The Secretary of State Commission expects that the captive, Yagub Mukhtarov, will return to Azerbaijan in the coming days.

Sailov called groundless the information in the Armenian press regarding refusal of other Azerbaijani captive Samir Mammadov to return to his own Native land. "If the Armenians, who are in captivity in Azerbaijan, refuse to return to their country, we will immediately notify the international community and the press. Naturally psychological influence was made upon Mammadov within three months, and as a result, he has refused to return to his country. If he wanted to go to the third country on his own wish, he would have said that immediately," Sailov said.

Mammadov was taken as a prisoner in December 2005. This year, he was shifted to the third country.
