Education Code to be Adopted in Azerbaijan: Head of Parliament Commission
Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 April / corr. Trend I. Alizade/ The Education Code will be adopted in Azerbaijan. "We plan to pass 14 laws on education after which we will develop an education code and will bring it up for discussions," Shamsaddin Hajiyev, the chairman of Standing Parliament Commission on Science and Education of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) said to media on 17 April.
"Three laws, Law on Education, on Higher Education and Scientific Policy have already been developed and can be brought up for the discussion in the Standing Parliament Commission on Science and Education of Milli Majlis within the next few days," Hajiyev said.
The Bill on Higher Education is a document providing real regulatory basis and mechanisms to realize provisions on higher education institutions. "This Bill meets all modern standards," he said.
He said that the higher education in Azerbaijan should fully meet world standards as Azerbaijan has joined Bologna system. "The legislation and regulatory basis is critical for education processes to meet world standards. Legislation on higher education in Azerbaijan should be consistent with that of in education system of Europe," Hajiyev said.
