Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 May / Trend corr. G.Jabiyev / Ramiz Mehtiyev, Head of the Executive Presidential Administration, stated that some forces could have plans to stage orange revolution regarding the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan. "Some forces might have plans to stage revolution. However, Azerbaijan is a strong country and nobody could prevent our development," Mehtiyev stated.
The presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan in October 2008. The candidature of Ilham Aliyev will be nominated from the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan party.
The opposition parties Musavat, Democratic, Umid , Great Establishment and Green party of Azerbaijan have stated that they would participate in the elections with their own candidates. The Azadlig bloc, which unites three opposition parties, stated that if the election atmosphere in the country will not change the bloc will boycott the elections.
