Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 June / corr. Trend R.Ergun / Several matches of the European Football Championship 2008, which are held in Austria and Switzerland, have been played. Interesting fights during the matches have lead to certain unexpected results.

It is very difficult to forecast which team will win this prestigious tournament. Trend held an opinion poll amongst several Azerbaijani specialists, toknow about their viewpoints regarding the possible winner of the championship.

A total of 16 national teams, with 4 in each group, compete in the European Championship.

Vagif Sadiqov, a former coach of the Azerbaijani National Team, told to Trend that he considers Spanish National team as the favorite. "This national team is always considered as one of the strongest. I like their matches very much. According to me, the Spanish National Team will play in the final match, and their opponent will be one of the 'death group' teams," the experienced specialist said.

The group C is called the "death group", because it includes the national teams of the Netherlands, Italy, France and Romania.

Ramiz Mammadov, a coach of the Gabala Football Club, also expressed the same opinion. "I like the matches of Portuguese National Team. They always demonstrate excellent performance. After the match with Italy, I think that the Netherlands' National Team deserves to play in the final," Mammadov said and noted that the death group teams have a very big opportunity for victory.

The Netherlands' National Team won the match against Italy with a striking 3:0 score.

The coach of the Bakili Football Club considers the Netherlands as his favorite team. "Their matches are always exciting. This country has the Ajax Football School, which trains the strongest players in this country. It is only a beginning, and it is wrong to forecast the finalists of the championship now. However, the Netherlands' National Team is a real candidate for the finals".

The European Championship will end on 29 June.

The final match will be held in Vienna, the capital of Austria, in the Ernst Heppel stadium.
