Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) President Rovnag Abdullayev blamed
football clubs for the national teams' poor performance.
"In most cases, players come unprepared to the national teams. This affects how
well the teams can compete," Abdullayev said at a meeting with club heads on
Feb. 4.
The Azerbaijani
national football team is training in the United Arab Emirates.
The squad
performed unsuccessfully in the World Championship 2010, scoring just one point
in three games.
German coaches manage the Azerbaijani national team, as well as the U-17 and
U-21 teams.
