Head of the European Union of Gymnastics Dimitrios Dimitropulos highly appreciated organization of the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku.
"The championship has been organized in line with high standards," Dimitropulos said at an official opening ceremony.
UEG head expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation for holding the championship on high level.
The 25th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships -Baku 2009 started on May 15. The championship is organized by Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. As many as 186 gymnasts from 32 countries will participate.
Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov said this is not first rhythmic gymnastics championship held in Azerbaijan.
Struggle of about 200 gymnasts from 32 countries testifies to the significance of the championship, he said.
Rahimov wished success and victory to all participants.
