Afghan, Azerbaijani news agencies become partners

Afghanistan's Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) and Azerbaijani TREND news agency have signed an agreement on information cooperation.

The agreement calls for mutual informing of political, economic, social, cultural and humanitarian life of the two states and enhancing cooperation on news, communication and photography. The agencies intend to cooperate with regard to news interesting for consumers both in Azerbaijan and Afghanistan. The agencies will exchange materials in Persian and English.

Afghan Voice Agency was founded as an independent news agency shortly after overthrow of Taliban in 2001. The Kabul-based news agency has two main branches in Iranian cities of Tehran and Meshed. The agency has representative offices in some European countries, the U.S. and Pishevar in Pakistan. AVA releases news in English, Persian and Afghan.

Trend agency is a private international news agency founded in Azerbaijan in 1995.

Online news issues by Trend are available in 5 languages, including English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Persian and Arab, which are posted on its website www.trendaz.com. Trend also offers its clients high quality videos and photos, analytical articles, which highlight major political and economic developments of the week, month and year and articles on economic topics, written by agency's experts.

In 2006 and 2007 Trend was awarded Best Company of the Year Prize in the category Mass Media in Azerbaijan. In 2008, Trend won a special competition of electronic media Eurasia in the Internet Space within the 11th Eurasian television forum in the category of For Successful Media Management of Information Partnership.
