Azerbaijan, Baku, May 18 / Trend , K.Zarbaliyeva/
The Yasamal District Religious Community of Baku applied to the court due to approving the design of the knocked down Muhammad Prophet Mosque.
The suit sent to the Sabail District Court demands to oblige the Baku City Administration and Yasamal District Administration to approve the mosque's design, Lawyer and representative of the community Mukhtar Mustafayev told Trend on May 18.
On Nov. 28, the Yasamal District Court passed a verdict supporting the Yasamal District Administration's request to raze the Muhammad Prophet Mosque at 190 Murtuza Mukhtarov St.
A non-residential building will be built on the property.
Mosque representatives lodged a complaint with the Baku Appeals Court requesting that the Yasamal District Court's verdict be annulled and a new decision be passed.
Mustafayev believes to raze the mosque with the court's resolution is illegal. A preparation meeting on the suit will take place at the Sabail District Court on May 27, he said.
An illegal building was razed in Baku, but not a mosque, Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujov said earlier.
