Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 19 / Trend , K.Zarbaliyeva/
The Azerbaijani State Commission on Religious Organizations (SCRO) states that the recent developments in the Northern Caucasus have not created a danger for religious stability in the country.
"Any danger is not expected both concerning religious situation and activity of religious groups in Azerbaijan due to these developments," SCRO Press Secretary Yagut Aliyeva told Trend on Aug. 19.
Recently, the North Caucasus region of Russia has experienced an unstable situation, including a number of terrorist attacks and assassinations. Some part of the Azerbaijani territory borders with the Northern Caucasus.
The situation in the North Caucasus has been taken into account in the service-operational activities at the northern border, Chief of the State Border Service Elchin Guliyev told journalists on Aug. 18.
Guliyev said Azerbaijan's northern borders are reliably protected. Azerbaijani border guards are prepared for any situation and a professional protection has been implemented at a necessary level, the SBS chief said.
Aliyeva said as a result of the measures taken by the relevant agencies, the country is experiencing internal stability and there is not any ground for negative cases. She added that the developments in Azerbaijan's northern neighbor do not affect Azerbaijan and the situation is under control in the country.
