Georgian president meets new academic year at school in Azerbaijani village

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili congratulated the teachers and pupils of the school of the Vakhtangisi village of the Kvemo Kartli region densely populated by the Azerbaijanis, with the new academic year. Saakashvili attended a lesson of the Georgian language teacher Nazi Tsiklauri.
The form is by 93 percent comprised of Azerbaijani children, who are studying Georgian language.
During the lesson, the head of state awarded the teacher the Order of Honor. "You are working in the school for many years and your work is happiness for children. They are in contact with you every day and learn a lot from you," Saakashvili said.
Saakashvili said he talked to the governor and the rehabilitation of the school building will begin soon.
