The Azerbaijani national beach football team will head for Iran.
"We had a discussion in connection with the Azerbaijani national beach football team's visit to Iran, and an agreement was reached on this issue," said Mujtaba Rizvani, deputy head of Iran's Beach Football Federation, the Iranian Fars news agency reported.
"Friendly matches between the Azerbaijani and Iranian beach football team will be held in Tehran within the framework of training of the Azerbaijani team to be held from Oct. 14-22," said Rizvani.
Friendly matches with the Azerbaijani national team are held to prepare the Iranian team to the Beach Football World Cup to be held in Dubai on Nov. 16. The tournament will bring together 16 best beach football teams of all continents.
At the final stage of the European Championship EBSL 2009 (Euro beach Soccer League 2009), held in the Portuguese city of Vila Real de Santo Antonio on Aug. 20-23, the Azerbaijani team won the right to participate in the promo-finals, and as a result, ranking fourth, entered the top 12 of most powerful teams of the continent
