The Caucasus religious leaders should continue and further work towards the elimination of inter-ethnic, sectarian and international conflicts, Chairman of the Council of Muftis in Russia Ravil Gainutdin said.

"We should work further to eliminate inter-ethnic, interdenominational and international conflicts - terrorism, extremism, Nazism and all forms of intolerance," Gainutdin said at the international conference on religious dialogue in Baku on Nov.7.

"Muslims comprises a quarter of the world population and their contribution to the strengthening of mutual understanding among faiths is important, we must work over all types of dialogue," the chairman added.

"We know the Sheikh-ul-Islam as Honorable religious leader. Your work contributes to the stabilization of religious tolerance in the Caucasus," he added.
