Azerbaijani martial artists won the Kung Fu World Cup, the Azerbaijan Kung Fu Federation told Trend today.
The Azerbaijani delegation headed by Federation President and Head Coach Davud Mahmudzade participated in the tournament in Sofia.
Eight martial artists represented Azerbaijan at the World Cup organized by the International Kung Fu Federation. Araz Abdulov, Veysel Qanbarov, Jeyhun Babayev, Farid Mayilov and Babek Aliyev beat Russian, Bulgarian, French and Ukraine martial artists in the final round to win gold medals and the tournament.
The Organization Committee awarded the Best Athlete Cup to Babek Aliyev. Anar Imanov and Mustafa Mamedzade finished in second place and Bahruz Hasanov in third place.
