A court passed a sentence on persons accused of drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Heinous Crimes Court sentenced residents of the Beylagan region, Tahir Nasirov to 14 years imprisonment and Ilgar Guliyev to 11 years imprisonment.
The officers of the Azerbaijani National Ministry arrested the accused July 5 and seized 30 kilograms of hashish during the arrest.
They were convicted under the Articles 206.2 (smuggling), 234.4.1, 234.4.3 (manufacture, acquisition, storing, transfer, transport or sale of precursors for the illicit manufacture and processing of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances) and 318 (illegal crossing the state border of Azerbaijan Republic) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
