About 2,332 items of religious literature were sent to expertise in Azerbaijan in 2009. About 380 samples were found harmful. Attempts to import and distribute them were prevented.
"About 21 items of religious literature among 114 samples were found with the defects. It was recommended to make relevant changes in these books," the report submitted to the Azerbaijani Parliament by the government last year said.
As a result of taken actions about 150 religious structures passed registration. About 700 structures have submitted documents to the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations for registration.
