Latest victory of Azerbaijani boxers once again proved that sport in Azerbaijan is developing rapidly, Azerbaijani Boxing Federation president Kamaladdin Heydarov told media.
He said that Azerbaijani team won three medals at the Junior World Championship.
Youth World Championship is held in Baku in the Olympic Sports Complex Sarhadchi (Border Guard). Currently, Azerbaijani boxer Salman Alizadeh was awarded with the gold medal in the 48 kg weight category, beating Irish boxer Ryan Burnett.
"This success is special given the number of countries and participants, who arrived in Baku to compete for the championship awards," the president of the federation said.
Heydarov said that the State provides substantial support for sport. Current success is not accidental.
