Azerbaijan, Baku, May 13 / Trend M.Aliyev /
The water level in the Kur River may increase due to preservation of unstable weather conditions in Azerbaijan and Georgia until May 16, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry's National Hydrometeorological Department's hydrometeorology center head Elnar Sultanov told Trend.
Given that rainfall in Azerbaijan will not be torrential, a water level in the tributaries of the Kur River is expected to increase only due to melting snow, Sultanov said.
The country's water reservoirs will be filled within 10-14 days at the current level of the water increase, he added.
"Today, the level of the Mingachevir water reservoir is 82.42 m, 58 cm below from the projected level (83 meters), and in the Shamkir reservoir water level has dropped by 10 cm and water consumption was 760 cubic meters per second," Sultanov said.
According to him, the water level stooped to rice in the reservoirs on the Araz River and the water level can be reduced here after May 16.
