People who previously worked as judges and lawyers in Azerbaijan, will be taken to the bar without examination.
Latest additions and changes to the law on lawyers and advocacy created such a possibility to people previously served as judges or lawyers, deputy chairman of the Bar Association Farhad Najafov said.
The law states that the person worked as lawyers (except those suspended the lawyer's activities in the disciplinary process) or judges may be lawyers without passing the written tests and mandatory training, passing a verbal contest.
Prior to the additions and changes, people working as judges or lawyers, began to operate only after the written tests and mandatory training.
Deputy chairman said that said about the competition for admission to Bar, but its date is unknown.
Azerbaijan holds one of the last places on the number of lawyers among the European countries.
