The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has monitored the level of pollution of transboundary rivers in mid-June, the Ministry told Trend.

The results of monitoring, the number of nutrients in the river Kura significantly exceed the norm due to untreated domestic and industrial wastes into the water on the territory of Georgia and Armenia.

Phenol and copper compounds contained in water are significantly higher than the permissible norm.

Content of phenol in water exceeds the norm four times, copper compounds - three times in  Shikhli-2; phenol - twice, copper compounds - three times in Agstafachay, phenol - twice, copper compounds - three times in the reservoir Agstafachay.

In mid-June, water flow in the river Kura, decreased by 61 cubic meters per second and reached 432 cubic meters compared to the first decade.

Water flow in the river Araz was 499 cubic meters per second.
