The Gabala International Music Festival will be held July 23-Aug. 5 with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Musicians from the United States, Russia, the UK, France and Italy will attend.
Foreign guests will become acquainted with Azerbaijani culture. Local music lovers will also have the chance to review the various international musical genres.
Leading figures Yuri Bashmet, Boris Berezovsky and Al Jerome will take part in the event. The festival will also host master classes.
The Uzeyir Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Orchestra and the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform the works of U. Hajibeyli, G. Garayev, F. Amirov, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rakhmaninov, Mozart, and Schubert.
The festival will open June 30. UNESCO General Director Irina Bokova will attend the opening ceremony.
