Azerbaijan, Baku, August 5 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /

Azerbaijani ombudsman appealed Interior Minister to consider the issue related to abuse by plain-clothes officer.

Head of the group of the National Preventive Mechanism against torture and other cruel, anti-human and degrading treatment or punishment established under the Ombudsman's office Vugar Maharramov met with detainees in the detention facility, the ombudsman's office said.

During the five-hour visit, it was revealed that ten people are detained there. These people were arrested in the administrative order for a period of 7-10 days upon the Sabail District Court's decision.

During the conversation, the detainees said they were offended by plain-clothes officer. They do not know his name. As a sign of protest, they went on a hunger strike (they only drank water and smoked).

Each of them was invited to be examined by employees of the Ambulance Service. Necessary medical assistance was rendered to each of them.

As a result of interviews with detainees, some of them, after the meal, stopped the hunger strike.

They said that they were not physically abused.

The management was instructed to keep under control the state of these people.
