The Court received the European Justice Court's decision on this case, the court told.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) announced its decision regarding Fattulayev's appeal on its website April 22. The court demanded the journalist's immediate release.

A few days ago the European Court issued a final ruling on Fatullayev's suit against Azerbaijan. According to the decision, Fatullayev must be immediately freed and he must be paid 28,000 euros.

A criminal case was filed under Article 234.1 (illegal purchase or storage narcotics or psychotropic substances in quantities exceeding necessary for personal consumption without the intent to sell) of the Criminal Code.
