An international conference will be held in connection with the 15th anniversary of the adoption of the Azerbaijani Constitution.
International conference on the topic "Constitutional mechanism of protection human rights and freedoms" to be held Nov. 12, will be organized jointly with the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the OSCE Baku office, the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The conference is scheduled to be attended by chairmen and judges of constitutional courts of Germany, Belarus, Turkey, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, and representatives of the European Court of Human Rights.
The first Constitution of Azerbaijan was adopted by referendum Nov.12 1995.
The Constitution of the Azerbaijani Republic consists of five sections, 12 chapters and 158 articles.
Amendments and additions were made to Azerbaijan's Constitution twice - in 2002 and 2009.
