The Faculty of History of the Moscow State University is the leader among the faculties of history in Russia, Ismail Agakishiyev, the director of the Caucasian Department under the Russian State Humanitarian University, a member of Trend Expert Council, told Trend.
"A department of history of the CIS countries, where the history of Azerbaijan is taught, was opened over the last 50 years on the faculty for the first time", he said.
He said that the department was opened on the initiative of Sergey Karpov, the dean of the Faculty of History of the Moscow State University, Efim Pivovar, the rector of the Russian State Humanitarian University and Alexei Vlasov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History of the Moscow State University.
