Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 5 / Trend M.Aliyev /
An individual approach will be taken in relation to data medium during the application of law on "receipt of information" in Azerbaijan, Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova told Trend.
She said the receipt and the use of information depends on the will of the source, adding that "at the meetings with the prisoners, we see that some of them tend to communicate with the press, and some avoid. In relation to them as carriers of information, an individual approach should be applied."
The Azerbaijani Parliament today adopted the law on "the transfer of the Press Envoy's authority to the Human Rights Ombudsman" on the first reading.
The rules on consideration of complaints over the violation of Human Rights Ombudsman's right to receive the information are reflected in the draft law on amendments and additions to the Law of the Constitution on "the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan."
Suleymanova further said that during the first six months of 2011 the charter of the Ombudsman Apparatus Information Department will be prepared as well as rules that will facilitate effective operation of the structure.
"The Charter of the department will be prepared by carrying out extensive discussions, as the mechanism of the structure should be determined taking into account the suggestions of society," Suleymanova said.
