Azerbaijani State Border Service refutes reports of media outlets about the entry of the U.S. citizen of Armenian origin, who is accused of spying, into Iran through the Azerbaijani territory.

"Recently the media outlets of our country and other countries have circulated contradictory and confusing information that the person suspected of spying, Hall Talayan (Falayan, Falalan) under age of 34 or 55 years, a U.S. citizen of Armenian origin, was arrested Jan. 7 on the Iranian checkpoint Nordust or in Julfa," the SBS press service told Trend.

The information disseminated in the media could create an erroneous impression about the entry of the U.S. citizen of Armenian origin, who is accused of spying, into Iran through the Azerbaijani territory, or his detention on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border, the report said.
