The Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry found about 50 new buildings in Baku that do not meet safety requirements in 2010, State Construction Supervision Agency Inspectorate head Khalid Najafov told journalists today.

"These buildings are currently in operation, but they have not received an official conclusion from the Emergency Situations Ministry," Najafov said at a meeting of Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC).

He added that the residents of these buildings, which need additional work to strengthen their structures, will be temporarily relocated. Buildings that cannot be repaired will be demolished.

Najafov urged citizens to make sure of presence of the Ministry's official conclusion before buying the home.
