Azerbaijani students to attend I International Informatics Olympiad

The I International Informatics Olympiad of the students of the Eastern Europe and CIS countries will kick off on May 4 within the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence and the International Youth Year declared by the UN, the Youth and Sports Ministry said.

The I International Informatics Olympiad of the students of the Eastern Europe and CIS countries will kick off on May 4 within the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence and the International Youth Year declared by the UN, the Youth and Sports Ministry said.

The main goal of the Olympiad is to increase students' scientific knowledge and interest in this activity, stimulation of expanding scientific societies, clubs, special courses' activity, establishing conditions to identify gifted students and enhance their skills to work in a team.

The event will be attended by 33 students from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Georgia.

Nine students from Baku State University, Baku branch of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov and the Caucasus University will represent Azerbaijan at the Olympiad.
