Azerbaijan and Turkey reached a new agreement defining the rules of admission of Azerbaijani youth in the Turkish universities through the state line in the coming years, Education Minister Misir Mardanov told journalists.

Azerbaijan will inform Turkey about the priority specialties in 2012, he said.
"Based on the agreement, Azerbaijan will be allocated places in the specialties, in which the country is interested. A competition will be held on these specialties and students will be accepted," Mardanov said.

Turkey made changes in 2011 to the list of specialties, to which Azerbaijani students are accepted. This contradicted the agreement between the two countries in education. The Education Ministry did not adopt these specialties, so the reception of documents in Turkish universities has been suspended. Then, the Turkish National Education Ministry has made changes to the list of specialties in accordance with Azerbaijan's interests and the reception of Azerbaijani youth in Turkish universities was continued.

Entrance exams in Turkish universities for 2011-2012 academic year were held on April24.

This year's final examinations in secondary schools will be held in June, Mardanov said.

"Trial tests have been completed. I think that the exams will be at a higher level in 2011," he added.
