Heydar Aliyev Award presented to students of State University of Montana (PHOTO)

Representatives of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles presented the students of the State University of Montana with an annual award named after the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

This award was established in 2008 by the Azerbaijani Consulate General for the U.S. students excelled in the study of Azerbaijan and Eurasian region in general. This year the award was presented to Richard Gauron, Laura Villegas, Taylor Bezek and Daniel Brooks. All four students were in 2010 the participants of the summer expedition in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, along the route of the South Caucasus gas pipeline, which was initiated by professor - a renowned expert on the Caucasus Thomas Goltz - and with the support of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
