Azerbaijan may increase age limit for young scientists to 35 years

Azerbaijan, Baku, May 18 / Trend I.Isabaleyeva /

Azerbaijan plans to increase the age limit for young scientists.

Although, persons aged 16- 29 are considered to be youths inAzerbaijan, the age limit in relation to young scientists should be increased to 35 years, Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) employee Ilgar Orujov told Trend.

"Young scientists put forward this proposal and the Youth and Sports Ministry approved it. This period is a period of vigorous activity, so the age of 35 can be regarded as youth. We believe this issue may be reflected in the State Program on Azerbaijani youth in 2011-2015 and
the Law on youth policy," Orujov said.

He said increasing the age limit will allow scientists to enjoy many social benefits and participate in grant projects in the sciences announced by various global structures.

Today, it is very important to monitor the innovative activities of young scientists, organization of PR-work and building an information data, Orujov said.

This data must reflect the number of young scientists, the research areas in which they are engaged in, innovative works, inventions, number of scientific papers and other information.
