Azerbaijan has approved changes to the procedure for reviewing judicial acts that have come into force based on newly discovered evidence.
Parliament mulled and adopted a bill on amending Article 437 of the Civil Procedure Code.
Under the changes, applications will be pre-reviewed by court officials, as appointed by the Supreme Court Presidium.
If the court finds that the application is made in a form that does correspond to the requirements, the court shall return the application.
The applicant may re-apply if eliminates deficiencies that caused the return of application.
If there is no reason to revise the court acts on newly discovered evidence, the court decides to refuse to accept the application.
If the conditions are met on submitting a required form and there are grounds for a review of the court acts on newly discovered evidence, it shall be decided to transfer the application along with the case to the Plenum of the Supreme Court.
The decisions cannot be appealed.

Applicant and others involved in the case are sent notifications about a meeting of the Plenum, its time and place.
However, their absence is not an obstacle to the consideration of the application.
