On June 1, International Children's Day, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and UNICEF launches a campaign "There is no limit to opportunities", aimed at eliminating the partial attitude towards children with disabilities.

The campaign, which will be implemented over the next six months through special events, social reels on television, announcements and other communications materials, will support the integration of children with disabilities across the country and their social integration, the Foundation told Trend.

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been ratified by the Azerbaijani Government in 2009. Thus, in a variety of activities are conducted in this regard, especially in the field of inclusive education.

About 56,000 children with disabilities have been registered in Azerbaijan. Only 6,000 of them get education at special schools and 11,000 at home.

The goal of the campaign is to change attitudes towards disabled children by parents, teachers, health workers and others. One of the promotional activities of the campaign will be an international conference in Baku, which is scheduled for September and is dedicated to issues related to children with disabilities.

Joint activities with partners will bring together the youth, children, as well as media representatives and public figures. Social reels will be broadcasted on the television from June 1 as part of the project.
