The Azerbaijani diaspora seeks representation in the Swedish Parliament, Swedish-Azerbaijani Federation Head Sattar Sevigin told Trend.

He said that the Azerbaijani diaspora is currently represented in the municipalities.
"To be represented in the parliament is one of the most important tasks before us. If at least one of our representatives is in the parliament, he can carry out the diapora's work at a higher level," he added.

Work is now underway among the youth to achieve this goal, Sevigin said.

"We try to create more conditions for young people. We have young people who were born and raised in Sweden, received an education, and are more informed about the political life in Sweden. They have more opportunities. So at the next elections, we intend to nominate one of these young people," he said.

Sevigin said representatives of the diaspora operate in the major political parties.
