Georgia establishes movement - "Power to People"

Georgia, Tbilisi, July 27 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /
The office "House of Free Thought" in Tbilisi has formed the new movement - "Power to People". The organization brings together former members of the Supreme Council and the "National Movement", including Irina Sarishvili, Temur Koridze, Levan Gvindzhiliya, Paata Baratashvili, Tamaz Bibiluri, and others.
Irina Sarishvili is widow of the assassinated leader of the Georgian National Democratic Party Gia Chanturia. She has moved away from politics over the past three years, but prior to that was a leader of the "Imedi" ("Hope") party, of the Georgian fugitive former security minister Igor Giorgadze.
According to new movement members, they will fight not for power, but for the transfer of power to the people, which means not only the right to choose the country's leadership, but also the implementation of national control over the election process.
They believe that the only way to bring the country out of political crisis is to achieve national consent and to hold free elections.
