The European championship held in Catania, Italy was successful for the Azerbaijani men's national team on field hockey. The team has already reached the final.
The Azerbaijani team won in the "A" group and on July 29 held a play-off match with Gibraltar's hockey players in semifinal of the championship, the Azerbaijan Field Hockey Federation told Trend. The Azerbaijani team won scoring 4-2. The Italians won Swiss hockey players 3-2 (3-0) in other semifinal match.
Azerbaijani and Italian hockey players will meet in the Championship Finals on Saturday at 23:30 Baku time.
