Germany to share vocational training experience

Talks will be held about Germany’s vocational education experience when a delegation from Azerbaijan visits Berlin on today, the chairman of the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations, MP Fuad Muradov told Trend.

Talks will be held about Germany's vocational education experience when a delegation from Azerbaijan visits Berlin on today, the chairman of the National Council of Azerbaijani Youth Organizations, MP Fuad Muradov told Trend.

He said a series of workshops on special on going secondary education topics will be held within the conference entitled 'Education - Prospects - Achievements', marking the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's state independence.

Mr Muradov want on: "One of the issues concerning today's Azerbaijani youth is associated with getting enough professional knowledge into specialised schools. The country shows little interest in such systems, but today there is a great need for young people to receive professional support. Muradov said the state programme on development of vocational education will soon help to address these problems.

He added: "The German economy receives 70 per cent of its profits from those who are professionally qualified through having had special college education."

The meetings in Berlin will be attended by representatives from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Mr. Muradov said the oil company needs staff with the proper vocational skills.

Today, 108 vocational education institutions operate in Azerbaijan, 47 of which are vocational lyceums, others are vocational schools.
