Snow and strong wind, in some areas with snowstorm, are forecasted today in the west and south of Kazakhstan, the country's Emergency Situations Ministry said with reference to the Kazakhstan Hydrometeorological Service.
"Southeast wind reaching 20-25 per second, sometimes over 30 meters per second will hit the Zhalanashkol district in the Almaty region. The wind will increase in some districts of Aktobe, Eastern Kazakhstan regions. Fog and ice-slick is expected in some places in the Zhambyl region. Fog is expected in some areas of South Kazakhstan region, strong winds is expected to reach 15-20 meters per second, night gusts up to 23 meters per second. Fog is expected in Atyrau and North-Kazakhstan regions," the report says.
