Georgia, Tbilisi, March 31 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /

Four Georgian sailors detained in Sukhumi, have been released and have already moved to Tbilisi-controlled Georgian territory.

The operation to free the sailors Georgiy Kapanadze, Manuchar Bolkvadze, Aziz Varshanidze and Sulkhan Tsetskhladze was carried out under the mediation of Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Georgia Giorgi Karbelashvili, as well as the Red Cross, Georgia's Maritime Administration told Trend on Saturday.

It should be noted that the captain of the vessel, a citizen of Azerbaijan, preferred to remain in Sukhumi.

On February 21, 2011 Georgian sailors boarded a Panama-flagged ship, based on a 6-month contract. According to the sailors, they were told that the vessel goes to Bulgaria, but later it was found out that the ship arrived in Abkhazia. Since May last year, the ship was in port of Sukhumi, and the citizens of Georgia could not leave it.
