Seismic tomography to be held in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 2 /Trend I.Isabalayeva/

Seismologists from Azerbaijan, Georgia and the United States will start an earthquakes project.

The project is scheduled for the end of this next year, the official website of the National Seismological Service Center said.

A delegation of scientists from the United States and Georgia arrived in Azerbaijan for discussions on the project.

The delegation includes Professor of Michigan University of USA Kevin McKay, Professor of Missouri University Eric Sondvol, Representative of Arizona University John Nabelek, deputy director of the U.S. Center for Security Studies of the Earth Ellen Vergina and the deputy director of the Georgian Institute of Earth Sciences Tea Godoladze.

The guests visited the Republican Seismological Service Center, where
they met with the CEO of the center, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences Gurban Etirmishli.
