Azerbaijani alley of martyrs opened in Moldova (PHOTO)

On the eve of May 9 the embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova opened an Azerbaijani alley of the fallen (martyrs) at the Memorial of the those who have fallen for their country - "Eternitate" in the Moldovan capital Chisinau, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova told Trend on Monday.

On the eve of May 9 the embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova opened an Azerbaijani alley of the fallen (martyrs) at the Memorial of the those who have fallen for their country - "Eternitate" in the Moldovan capital Chisinau, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova told Trend on Monday.

The tree-planting ceremony and the opening of a memorial plaque was attended by Minister of Health of Moldova Andrei Usatii, Ambassador of Ukraine Sergei Pirozhkov, Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Selim Kartal, department head at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nikolai Mynya, chairman of the Committee of Veterans and Military Service of Moldova Yefim Donos, Moldova's former defense minister Valeriu Plesca, chairman of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova Vugar Novruzov, etc.

The ceremony was also attended by military attaches and other representatives of embassies and international organizations accredited in Chisinau, co-chair of the coordinating council of ethno-cultural organizations of Moldova Nikolai Terzi, public figures of Moldova, members of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova and the media.

The inscription on the memorial plaque, made in the Azerbaijani language and official language of Moldova, reads: "The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Moldova. Alley of the fallen "Shusha", Chisinau. 09/05/2012".

Similar to the mall before the Memorial was opened embassies of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia in Moldova.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Moldova Namik Aliyev spoke at the ceremony.
