Head of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikulislam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade provided material assistance to the victims of earthquake in the Iranian East Azerbaijan Province, spokesman for Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Abbas Iskenderi told Trend on Saturday.
He said yesterday Pashazade visited the Iranian Embassy, expressed condolences to the families of the earthquake victims and Iranian people and stressed that the Azerbaijani people support them to overcome their sorrow.
Then Pashazade handed over the Caucasus Muslims Office's financial assistance to the Embassy.
The Caucasus Muslims Office's spokesperson Rahima Dadashova confirmed the information.
Earlier Pashazade expressed condolences Iranian Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over the earthquake that hit the East Azerbaijan Province.
