PETRAD Norwegian State Fund Director Oystein Berg, University of Stavanger City Professor Ove Tobias Gudmestad and Statoil-Azerbaijan representatives Shakhpur Sotudekhmanesh and Sevil Aliyeva visited the Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) on Oct. 19, the BHOS reported to Trend.
The guests got acquainted with the material and technical equipment of the university and the educational process.
The dean of BHOS Elmar Gasimov told about the history of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan), as well as on projects implemented by SOCAR inside country and abroad.
Gasimov said that BHOS was established on November 29 2011 according to the decree of President Ilham Aliyev and was assigned a status of a state institution in the SOCAR structure.
Various agreements were signed between the BHOS and Statoil-Azerbaijan, such as on providing the university with professional literature in English.
Books by Berg and Gudmestada were also presented to the BHOS dean.
