Newspapers, submitting false documents to the Fund for State Support to Media Development will be excluded from participation in its projects for a period of three years, Executive Director of the Fund Vugar Safarli said at a meeting with chief editors of newspapers on Saturday.

"If a newspaper tries to deceive us and submit false documents, it will be removed from participation in our projects for the period of three years. We will include this issue in our policy," Safarli said.

The Executive Director reminded that the Fund supports newspapers that have subscribers and accounting documents. The newspapers distributed free of charge can not take part in projects initiated by the Fund.

According to him, given that newspapers lack the resources and appropriate material and technical basis, the Fund has provided funds to them from its own budget; financial support has transferred to bank accounts of newspapers.

"These funds are to be spent on strengthening the material-technical base of newspapers and support of their online sites. If any newspaper doesn't comply with it, in the future it will also be deprived of support and excluded from participation in projects", Safarli said.
