Azerbaijan supports development of common educational TV channels of Turkic countries

Education Minister Misir Mardanov noted the need for a common educational TV channels of Turkic countries.

This was stated by the minister at a meeting with Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries Halil Akinci, the official website of the Ministry of Education said on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the Turkic countries. He also noted the need to improve relations in the field of education for the rapprochement of Turkic peoples.

Akinci, addressing issues of the common alphabet and language of Turkic peoples, also stressed the importance of preparing common textbooks on history and literature.
Speaking about the development of relations between universities, Akinci drew attention to the mutual recognition of diplomas and the establishment of common educational channels. The Secretary-General also said that the meeting of specialists of member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries is planned, and noted the possibility of reaching consensus on the proposals.

Misir Mardanov, in turn, raised the need for expansion of ties between the universities of Turkic-speaking countries, and noted the possibility of organizing joint conferences.

Mardanov noted the importance of compliance with university curriculum and discussion of this issue by experts. The Minister also stressed the need for common educational TV channels of Turkic countries.
