Azerbaijani Consulate General in Istanbul is taking steps to deliver to Azerbaijan the bodies of Azerbaijani students, who died in a car accident in Turkey, the acting head of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service, Hikmet Hajiyev told Trend Sept. 26.

The consulate general is also providing support for rendering medical aid to the two students, who were left wounded following the accident, he said.

Hajiyev said a car carrying Azerbaijani citizens crashed this morning in the Turkish city of Usak. Azerbaijani citizens Anar Musayev, Ulvi Sadigov and Elvin Huseynov were killed as a result.

Three other Azerbaijanis Ali Karimli, Mayis Hasanov and Mugdat Talibli were injured. They are listed in serious condition.

The Azerbaijani citizens killed and wounded in the accident were all the first- and second-year students at the Usak University.

Earlier on Sept. 26, Turkish newspaper Ajans34 said three Azerbaijanis were killed in the car crash in Turkey's Usak Province.

The accident happened as the car entered the opposite lane, according to the preliminary version on the accident's causes.

A criminal case was launched into the accident, and an investigation is underway.
