Brussels to hold presentation for Baku 2015 First European Games

Presentation ceremony for the First European Games will be held in Brussels, Belgium on Apr.14, Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports said.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov has left for Belgium for an official visit to attend the presentation.

Azad Rahimov, former president of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge, President of the Olympic Committee of Belgium Pierre-Olivier Beckers and vice-president of the European Parliament are expected to address the presentation that will be held in Egmont Palace in Brussels.

During the event, the guests will be presented a video footage and photo exhibition about the preparations for the Games. Moreover, the presentation ceremony for the First European Games will be held in the European Parliament on Apr.15.

The presentation will be attended by Azad Rahimov, members of the European Parliament, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, Marc Tarabella, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belgium Fuad Isgandarov and other officials.

Alongside with the First European Games, the issues of strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Parliament, working out new projects in the sphere of youth, innovations in various fields and other issues will be discussed during the roundtable presentation ceremony.

Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
